Tracie Strucker, Phd

Meet your new coach, Tracie Strucker!

Growing up in the greater Los Angeles area I know firsthand that trying to conform to someone else’s idea of who and what you should be will never work. More importantly, I learned that beauty comes from living your life from your core; mind, body and heart.

I studied philosophy as an undergraduate and psychology, family systems and health psychology in graduate school, where I finished my education with a PhD in psychology.

After school I worked in the area of addiction, mental health and focused on eating disorders for the last 20 years.

I founded an outpatient eating disorders clinic where I led a team of  therapists, dietitians, yoga instructors, art therapists and physicians. We helped  hundreds of teens, college students, adults and their families to end eating disorders.  During this time, the clinic programs were diligently measured for outcomes and ours had very good results, with an average reduction in problem eating behaviors of 80% during the first four weeks.

Combining this experience, with the evolving brain science and habit change, I’m able to translate the therapeutic interventions into real world solutions that gets to the heart of “food issues.” You’ll receive practical information, accountability and habits that make a difference for long term health and happiness.

Frequently Asked Questions

The first step is to schedule your free intro call. We’ll talk about your goals, decide if coaching is right for you and if we’re a good fit. If coaching is for you and I’m the coach for you, we’ll get started as soon as you like.

Coaching is an action oriented way to set yourself up to reach your goals. We’ll check in on how you’re doing, assess what worked & what didn’t and then move forward with your action plan.

At this point, you probably know a lot, maybe too much about food and nutrition. Stress eating isn’t really about the food it’s about your ability to clearly say yes or no depending on the situation.

No, not unless it helps you move forward on your goals. Coaching is focused on the present and future, not on reliving the past.

Change can happen pretty quickly. Most of my clients notice an average of 80% reduction in stress eating in the first month!

You might or might not. The goal is to stop stress eating, learn new habits and take care of yourself without using food to calm down. The process often leads to less food being eaten. A non-diet approach to weight loss is to increase your awareness and decision making, so you’re in charge of your body – what you eat, how you move and where to focus your efforts.
